mom & dad

My mom and dad recently celebrated their 50th birthdays + also got 'engaged'! My dad never actually proposed to my mom and so almost 30 years later he fixed that terrible mistake with a new shiny diamond. I got to take some anniversary/birthday/engagement photos of them being all in love and stuff.
This location was not my favorite ever but we made it work with a few different outfit changes and moving around a lot! We were also able to get a few professional head shots for my dad- he just graduated with his MBA and started a new website about leadership: newleafleader.com.

Check out how cute they are!

hawkins family

I met Karlie in hair school when we were 16. We did not like each other right off but over the course of years we learned to deal with each other ;) I watched her romance with Trevor grow for several years until they (finally) got married the same year I did. And now, both of us are photographers! We did a family photoshoot swap and not only do I LOVE our family photos, but THEIR family (Karlie + Trevor + Swarley + Ecko) was a dream to photograph and I'm kicking myself for not putting their session up sooner. The creamy fall light was perfect in the mountains and these guys are among the most photogenic people + canines I've ever seen. Please enjoy a little throwback to warmer weather and prettier foliage.

rob + jenica wedding

Rob was my very best friend all through high school and I was SO THRILLED to be able to shoot his wedding!!!! After being with him all through the ups and downs of the early dating years (we all know how those are), I was so happy to be able to reconnect with him a few years later and meet his beautiful and sweet wife Jenica. In the day that I spent with them together, I could tell they were meant. to. be. It was special to be there not only as their photographer but as their friend- This is the only wedding I've shot where I've actually gone to the ceremony in the temple too. Way cool. They were also nice enough to invite me to their luncheon, which was awesome because I lived too far away to go home in between the wedding and reception. (ugh.)
They had a lovely reception at the elegant Provo Historic Courthouse and their guests actually had FUN!! Dancing was a hit and they even had limbo. But the best part was that right at 9 pm the bride and groom were ready to leave and just headed out, right on time! (that NEVER HAPPENS). It was a great day- congratulations Jenica and Rob!
